How many times have you gone to a networking event, business meeting, or an appointment without having a goal in mind? I admit that I have done that FAR too many times! But I got back two days ago from a huge conference in Orlando, Florida and I’m happy to say that I handled things a bit differently this time. Before I got on the plane, I had already determined what my goals were for my time there, AND I had broken my goals into action steps and daily goals. I worked my butt off, frankly. And on the morning after the conference, I took a little break to go down to the lobby of The Peabody Hotel and watch the cute little ducks march down the red carpet and hop into the lobby fountain. Perhaps it was their cute little waddling behinds that inspired it, or maybe I was punch-drunk after four 18-hours days of networking, but I simply had to record my thoughts and tell you why you MUST set goals BEFORE you network. Watch the video, but ignore the bags under my eyes…networking is hard work!!!
